Kenneth D. Ritchie, 79 of 10 Green Mountain Dr., Iowa City, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died of Alzheimer’s disease Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at Mercy Iowa City. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Christ Episcopal Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Barbara Schlachter. Friends may call one hour before serve time Friday at the church. Arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy.

Also surviving are his children, Connie J. Smith of Mesa, Ariz., and Pam Hoogerwerf (Mike) of Iowa City; grandchildren, Justin M. and Hayley Lynne Smith, Mesa, Ariz., and Whitney and Trent Hoogerwerf, Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Lillian; and a son, Craig D. Ritchie of Phoenix.

Born June 22, 1929, he married Dorothy on June 22, 1973. Kenneth was a division sales rep for Wolverine World Wide Shoes and a member of the Ex Club and Elks.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Iowa City Hospice.
