I was Star's first grade teacher. I had a memory I thought her father would appreciate. The year I was her teacher, we had a national election. I asked my class if they knew what a Democrat or Republican was. Star replied. "When the Democrats are on TV, my Dad listens, when the Republicans come on, he turns the channel "over". Why I remember that I cannot say, but it still makes me smile when I think of her. My prayers are with you all at this time.

THESE WORDS ARE FROM A NEEDLE POINT BY STARLYNS BEST FRIEND, TAMI. I SAW STARLYN THIS WAY FOR THE 13 YEARS SHE GAVE ME THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING HER HUSBAND. PREFACE STAR BABY-DEDICATED TO MY BEST FRIEND.... She was born July 20,1958...What a day! Little did the world know what had just been bestowed upon it..This girl lived her life as if there were no tommorrow-once she got the hang of it...and right or wrong, no one was going to stop her.... APPENDIX So she never became a Star. Never had her name in Lights. But she will dwell as such in my heart Forever. And I guess that's the best place for her. She and her memories are safe and appreciated there. When I look up at the nightly heavens and see all those twinkling sparkles of light, I somehow know she's touched them...For she lived her Life as though it was one big Silver Screen...No...She never 'became' a Star...She's just always been one.... P.S. I never called my wife by Star, always Starlyn as I loved the sound...somehow sweet and melodious. "All My Lov'ng" forever STAR BABY!

To Greg, Bob and Mickey, I was also a classmate of Starlyn's. In fact, she was my first friend when I moved to New London in the second grade. I went home after my first day and proudly told my mother that I met this great girl with a beautiful name, Star! Then, as luck would have it, we lived in the same neighborhood. I have many memories of Starlyn, Bob and Mickey from those years. I'm so sorry for your loss, she was very special. Greg, even though we never met, I'm sure the memory of her beautiful "star-light" will comfort you in your loss.

I was in the class below Starlyn, but we were in many musical activities together. We were each one of the Von Tramp children in our high school musical "Sound of Music" . We had so much fun together. Star would always "tell it like it was" there was never any guessing about how she felt!!! I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Mickey & Bob Where to start! Star & I made so many memories. Horses, Camping trips, all the sluber parties, the many miles we drove the ford tractor. The one that comes to mind, that I think of every day as I change my pierced ear rings. Was the day in the upstairs bathroom that Star talked me into letting her pierce my ears!! I said yes, she did after a bunch of teenage drama and today 40 some odds years later those holes she made in my ears are still there!!! I loved her like a sister and she was probally the closest thing I had as sister growing up! I'm so thankful that we did get to reconnect in the past few years and that I did get to meet Greg. A piece of Star lives in all of us that grew up together back in the 70's in that small little Iowa town called New London!
