Memorial

Eloise W. Herren, 81, a resident of Willow Gardens, Marion, died there January 13, 2009 following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2009, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Marion. Rev. Greg Williamson will officiate. Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include her children Billy Herren of Whittier, Pam Sweeney and husband Dan of Stone City, and Janet Graham and husband Roger of South Africa. Also surviving are her 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, one brother, and daughter-in-law Linda Herren.

Eloise was born March 17, 1927 in Maquoketa the daughter of Alvin and Louise (Busch) Soenksen. She attended Marion High School. She was united in marriage to Ervin H. Herren on June 9, 1946 in Marion. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was employed at Collins Radio in various jobs, and also worked at Queen and Teen Dress Shop in Marion. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Eloise greatly enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
