Memorial
Bonnie R. Williams, 73, of Marion, died January 13, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a short illness. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Thursday, January 15, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Private Inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Meditation Wall.
Survivors include her children Donald R. Williams and wife Ann of White Bear Township, MN, Barbara K. Krug and husband Kevin of Swisher, and Ronald L. Williams and wife Erin of West Des Moines; grandchildren Jennifer Markt and husband Tom, Eleanor Marie Williams, Donald James Williams, Michelle Kathleen Williams, Ian Norman Williams, and Wesley Max Williams; sisters Maxine Atwood of Newton and Nadine Anderson of Healdsburg, CA; brothers Bob Youngkin of Newton and Earl Youngkin of Arizona; sister-in-law Jeane Tittle and husband Bill of Pekin, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family, and numerous close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman, a brother Donald, and grandson Trenton VanLengen.
Bonnie Ruth Williams was born March 19, 1935 in Sully, Iowa the daughter of Hallie E. and Elva B. (Sparks) Youngkin. She was united in marriage to Donald “Norman” Williams on August 20, 1955 in Kellogg, Iowa. Norman preceded her in death in 1999. She worked for Marketing Unlimited in Sales, and also worked at the Yarn Bank in Marion. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Marion, Welcome Wagon, and Embroiders Guild. She enjoyed needle point and crocheting. She also greatly enjoyed her garden with the many peonies and geraniums she cared for. Above all her greatest love was her time spent with family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bonnie’s name.
