Carol L. Weidman, 66, of 1441 38th St. SE. died Monday Dec. 29, 2008 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a long illness. Services at 10:00 AM on Saturday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Rev. Harlan Gillespie will officiate. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday. There will also be a service at the Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo, Missouri at a later date. Burial at Memorial Garden Cemetery in Buffalo, Missouri.

Survivors include her son, Derek of Cedar Rapids, her mother, Ida Kimberling of Buffalo, Missouri and two sisters, Anita Mistler of Jefferson City, Missouri and Barbara Moore of Trenton, Missouri. She is also survived by two nephews, Brent Moore and Craig Austin. She was preceded in death by her father.

Carol was born on April 11, 1942 in James Port, Missouri, the daughter of Byron and Ida Brockman Kimberling. She was a secretary at New York Life Insurance Co. for over 35 years. Carol was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, P.E.O., and the Christian Women’s Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, cooking creating greeting cards and especially time spent with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Carol’s name.
