Scott M. Griffin Sr., 44, of 4106 Majestic Ct. NE, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a long illness. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church in Hiawatha. Rev. Dennis Cahill will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Monday with a Wake service beginning at 7 PM.

Survivors include his wife Jayne, his children, Christine and Scott Jr. at home, Amanda Griffin of Iowa City, Liz ( Jake) Underwood of Cedar Rapids, his mother Yvonne Griffin of Portsmouth, N.H., two brothers Blaine (Rhonda) Griffin of South Bend, Indiana, and Shawn (Carol) Griffin of Geneva, New York, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father William Griffin, and his grandparents.

Scott was born May 27, 1964 in Manchester, New Hampshire, to William and Yvonne Brusso Griffin. He served in the US Navy. He married Jayne Adams (Diederich) on June 5, 1995 in Cedar Rapids. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriot fan. He was very athletic and enjoyed golfing, fishing, soccer, traveling, the ocean, and spending time with his friends and family.

A memorial fund has been established.
