Please accept my condolences on your loss. I have many fond memories of the time when I worked with Herb at Collins Main Plant. He always had interesting stories and helped train the younger technicians.

About my friend of 50 years. Dave and I became friends over 50 years ago after meeting at Science School in Wahpeton, ND. Our trailer houses were parked next to each other for both the years of school. We had installed intercom's between our trailers. We remained close after going to work at Collins Radio Co. in Cedar Rapids. After I transferred to the Collins facility in Richardson, TX we still communicated and got together occasionally. Dave was one of those farm kids who learned much through that experience and was blessed with innate intelligence that most of us don't have. If you knew anything of his projects and hobbies over the years, you know there was little in technical areas that he would not tackle. He truly was a special guy. With all his accomplishments he remained a quiet, gentleman who was always considerate of others. When I think of my travels and the many people I got to know, none were more special than my friend Dave Hamre and none will be missed more. Our condolences to Shirley and their family.
