Gary Lee Ehrenberger, 49, of Ely, died December 19, 2008 due to injuries resulting from an accident. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Stonebridge Church, 1829 Stoney Point Rd SW, Cedar Rapids. Pastor Randy Scheil will officiate. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, 1221 1st Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 22, 2008.

Survivors include his wife Linda; parents Russel and Charlotte Ehrenberger; a sister Cheryl (Chris) Langhurst of Cedar Rapids; brothers Lyle (Missy) Ehrenberger of Cedar Rapids and Tery Ehrenberger (Joann) of Ely; his beloved nieces and nephews Bryce, Carly, and Aubree Langhurst, Joel Ehrenberger, Eric and Joel Doty, and Krystal, Heather, and Michele Brown; brothers-in-law Steve (Mary) Doty of Cedar Rapids and Mike (Cindy) Doty of Austin, TX; sister-in-law Kathy (Jed) Brown of Omaha, NE; and father-in-law James Doty of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Jane Doty.

Gary Lee Ehrenberger was born February 5, 1959 in Cedar Rapids the beloved son of Russel E. and Charlotte J. (Dostal) Ehrenberger. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1977, Gary attended and completed electrician program. He was owner and operator of Fowler Electric. He was united in marriage to Linda Doty on September 1, 2000 at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Gary greatly enjoyed reading, traveling, and scuba diving. Above all Gary’s greatest enjoyment was his time spent with his family whom he dearly loved. He will forever be remembered for his caring, generous, and loving personality. He was a loving son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will be greatly missed.
