John W. Collins

I am one of the many lawyers who considered John a friend. Of course having the same last name contributed to many enjoyable exchanges between John and me.

I was saddened to see the notice of Mr. Collins death. He was always a pleasure to wait on in my days at the Martin Oil/CR Refuel station (now Casey's) on 8th Avenue. His smile was a joy to see.

I worked at Jane Boyd from 1997 to 1999 at the front desk. Seeing the Collins' come in for lunch everyday was a highlight for me. Mr. Collins always had a smile and a hello for me. I have thought about you both through the years. I'm sending prayers and thoughts your way. Terri Murphy

John's passing is sad. He was a strong influence in my young adult years. Many long talks; his love of singing helped bring my own along; his encouragement brought along my self-confidence. He did all this as a very humble man. John was a memorable rock in my life. I will miss him.
