Virginia E. Leinen, 91, of Northbrook Manor Care Center, died there, Thursday, December 4, 2008, after a long illness. There will be no services. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Jane (Ronald) O’Neill of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Bob O’Neill, Matt (Dorene) O’Neill, Dana (Tyler) Green, Aaron (Sue) Phelps, and Billie Jo Phelps; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; and a son, Bill Phelps.

Virginia was born on March 16, 1917 in Monticello to Alfred and Elizabeth Meier. She married Robert Samuel Leinen in Troy, KS on March 15, 1947. She liked to play bingo. She will be remembered for her love of people. She was kind to all she met.
