Doris Werth
Please accept my sympathy for the loss of Mrs. Werth. She was a patient of mine for many years prior to my retirement. Her cheery smile and good humor always cheered me up. It was a pleasure and a privilege to serve as her physician. Regards, Whealen Koontz, M.D.

I took care of Doris while she resided at Higley Mansion Care Center. We shared many stories, many laughs and even a few tears. Doris was a wonderful person and I truly enjoyed her friendship and sense of humor. Rest in peace Doris ~ you will be truly missed.

I know you will miss your mom and Grandma. I always considered her my second mom growing up..all the popsicles, soup with BUTTER on the crackers....I still eat them that way! We raced putting together US map puzzles, THAT's how I know my states..and Bingo..and your mom was always there, just like mine...with love, discipline when needed and smiles. I especially remember her throwing her head back with a laugh, bringing her hands up together clasping, and saying "oh, My!" She will be greatly missed by all she touched.

I worked with your dad at Rockwell and I kept in close contact with both your mom and dad after he retired. I lost touch with your mom until a few years ago, when I discovered she was living in the condo right behind our condo. She happened to be walking by my house one day and I stopped and talked to her. I think of them both often. In fact, I just remarked to my wife Cindy, that Bill had been gone 16 years...the next morning I discovered that your mom had died that day. Your mom and dad always had Cindy and I over for slide shows and dinner after every trip overseas. It was very memorable for us and we always looked forward to that next trip. Cindy and I wish your family best wishes. We are so sorry.

I knew Doris and her family because she was my neighbor in Clermont, Iowa and my sister's best friend in elementary and high school. Doris' sisters, mother and dad were all very kind to me. I have fond memories of the Gilbert family home and the good times I had there. Doris had such a fabulous laugh. I can still hear it. The glorious smile never changed. My sympathy to all.
