Memorial

Doris Werth, 81, of Linn Manor Care in Marion died Sunday Nov. 30, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Services at 11 AM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Dr. T. Edwards Breed and Vicar Debbie Thompson will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.

Survivors include two daughters, Nina (Mike) Kaegbein of Cedar Rapids, Carol (Tim) Dunnington of Barrington, Illinois and a brother, Norman Gilbert of California. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Allison and Kyle Dunnington , Steven Werth, and Daniel and Nicholas Fry. Three step-grandchildren, one great grandchildren and 14 step-great grandchildren.

Doris was born on Jan. 19, 1927 in Clermont, the daughter of Nels and Josephine Steinerson Gilbert. She married Willard F. Werth on Dec. 1, 1956 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1992. Doris was a typist at Collins for several years and later was a seamstress at both Kiecks and Younkers for over 13 years. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway. Doris enjoyed walks, her friends, family and especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association in Doris’ name.
