Ruth G. Wuggazer, 96, of the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, formerly of Cedar Rapids died at the Perry Lutheran Home on Tuesday Nov. 25, 2008 from complications of old age. Services at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after Noon on Saturday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith (Paul) Sundholm of Fairmont, Minnesota, two sons, Robert (Sharon) Wuggazer of Omaha, Nebraska and Thomas (Margaret) Wuggazer of Coffeyville, Kansas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michele) Sundholm, Kristen (Michael) Francis, Jill (Greg) Heims, Sheryl (Michael) Frye, Jonathan (Heidi) Wuggazer, Shauna (Korey) Knott, William (Lisa) Wuggazer, David and Bradley Wuggazer and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters.
Ruth was born on July 14, 1912 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of William and Emilee Feiertag Brauer. She married Rev. Erhard W. Wuggazer on Oct. 20, 1938 in Hammond, Indiana. He died 1985. Ruth was a register nurse and worked at the Hammond, Indiana Hospital and Mason City, Iowa Hospital for several years. She was a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City. Ruth enjoyed knitting. She was a very kind person who would always be there to help anyone. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family. A memorial fund has been established in Ruth’s name.
