Memorial
Harold E. Eberle, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday evening, November 24, 2008 in his home after a short illness, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November, 29, 2008 at Noelridge Park Church. Rev. Richard Marsceau will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, November 28, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife Marion; a daughter Collene (Brad) Hansen of Cedar Rapids; 2 sons Donald (Debra) Eberle and David (Amy) Eberle of Cedar Rapids; 3 stepsons, William Wilmot of Waco, TX, David Wilmot of Plano, Texas and John Wilmot of Cedar Rapids; a step daughter Debra Eberle of Cedar Rapids; 2 sisters Genevieve Cummings of San Marcos, Texas and Betty Matheny of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Wayne, Donald, Stanch and Reginal; one sister Gwen Young.
Harold was born May 15, 1933 in Mechanicsville, Iowa the son of William and Velma Eberle. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was married to Barbara Jean Helbig on June 4, 1954 in Cedar Rapids, they were later divorced. He was later united in marriage to Marion L. Rudnick on November 10, 1978 in Cedar Rapids. He worked for the US Postal Service for 8 years, and then worked for Yellow Cab for over 40 years. He was a member of Noelridge Park Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golf, and above all time spent with his family. He was a very loving husband, dad and grandpa. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
