Edwin Worth Bruere, age 80, passed away October 10, 2008 in Omaha, NE. Formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lyle M. Bruere, and his parents, Worth and Rose Bruere. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Dr. Gilbert Head, Omaha, NE; son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Diane Bruere, Glen Ellyn, IL; grandchildren, Cassandra, Spencer, and Talia Head; Forrest, Adam, and Maxwell Bruere.

Ed was a graduate of Alliance High School and the University of Nebraska. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked 40 years with Bishop Buffet. He started his career in Omaha. He continued his training in Rockford Illinois, where he became assistant manager. He then transferred to Cedar Rapids, where he worked his way up from assistant to acting manager at the downtown Bishops and to manager at Lindale Plaza. He later became Vice-President and he joined the Board of Directors. His friends said, "He always spoke well of everyone and looked out for the welfare of other people." In his retirement he enjoyed volunteering at his church and spending time with his valued friends and family. He was a kind and gentle man who will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, at 11:00 A.M., at Christ Episcopal Church, 220 40th St. NE. Memorials to the church.
