I have known Wayne for 40 years as the father of my very good friend Mike. I recall his typically calm demeanor and common sense advice on life's issues. He will be missed. My family would like express our deepest sympathy to Eva and Pat, Mike, and Greg and their families during this time.

I have known Wayne for 40 years, I used to live next door to him. I remember fishing and camping with him, and falling asleep watching Cub's games in his basement. He was a good man, and I will miss him very much.

I worked with wayne in 1975 at Harnischfeger where he taught me everything about metals, welding and steel. I was fresh out of Iowa State U. He was a most interesting individual. I was trying to find some history of the old CR plant and ran across this obituary. And Wayne is probably only 1 of about 5 people I remember from P&H. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
