Memorial

Wayne W. Kriegermeier, 79, of 5328 Holly Ave NW, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice house of Mercy following a long illness. Services at 10 AM Saturday in Cedar Hills Community Church with Rev. Dr. Leonard Ranson and Rev. Kent Landhuis officiating. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel from 4 to 7 PM on Friday and at the church after 9 AM on Saturday. Surviving to honor his memory are his wife of 60 years Eva, daughter Patricia Sorensen of Marengo, two sons Michael Debra of Cedar Rapids, and Gregory Cindy of Center Point, Iowa, a sister Mary Ann Daugherty of Centerville, Iowa, a brother Aubrey "Bud" Alice Kriegermeier of Unionville, Iowa, grandchildren, Chad Shane Kriegermeier of Cedar Rapids, Tara Lari Chesmore of Cedar Rapids, Tracy Sorensen of Cedar Rapids, Corey Kriegermeier of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Jennifer Mike Smith of Coralville, Iowa, Eric Kriegermeier of Cedar Rapids, and Nathan Kriegermeier of Center Point, Iowa, and great grandchildren Alan and Connor Kriegermeier, Miranda and Colt Dicus, Dallas and Scott Chesmore and Maddox Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Henry and Dyer, and sisters Jane and Julia.















Wayne was born July 1, 1929 at High Hill, Missouri to William and Mary Fenslage Kriegermeier. He married Eva Ellen Daugherty on May 29, 1948 in Moulton, Iowa. He was a welder at La Plant Choate and Allis Chalmers from 1946 to 1969, and a welding engineer at Harnischfeger's from 1969 to 1988. He was a member of Cedar Hills Community Church, the American Welding Society, NRA, and had been a Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop 86. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Hills Community Church, or to Hospice of Mercy.
