Lloyd E. Elson, 95, of Manor Care, died there Tuesday, September 23, 2008, after a long illness. Services: Private. Visitation will be today from 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Midway. Arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.

Survivors include two sons, Keith Sr. Barbara Elson of Cedar Rapids and Charles Elson of Omaha, NE; daughter, Dixie Gerald Egeberg of Melbourne, Florida, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and special friend, Liz Chadim.

Lloyd was preceded in death by wife, Genevieve; his sister, Opal Hedges; and a brother, Earl Elson.

Lloyd was born on March 13, 1913 in Monroe Township to Charles and Lucinda Philling Elson. He farmed in the area as well as doing electrical and carpentry work.

Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
