I didn't even know about Tim until 3 days ago (19SEP). Chris and I are both shocked and saddened. I wish I knew what to say to Lisa, Don, Gloria, Mike, and Kevin! I took it for granted that I'd be able to see him again someday when things weren't so busy. Tim was my best friend during a very hard period in my life and I'll never forget our friendship. I'll always think of him as a brother. To Lisa, I'm so sorry for your loss! Chris and I are praying for you and Meghen every night. Prov 3:5-6.

I didn't know the Canney family personally, but I do know that the Canney family have made a great addition to the city of Cedar Rapids. I learned how to ride a motorcycle in 1998. My husband purchased me a Honda 250 Rebel from a farmer in Fairfax. It was blue and the farmer told me that they had purchased it from one of the Canney sons. I loved that Rebel. After getting my motorcycle license, I decided I needed a bigger bike. I sold the Rebel to a lady in Michigan and purchased a 750 Virago. I kick myself all the time now because I really do miss that Rebel. Thanks for all the fun I had on the Rebel perfecting my riding skills.
My deepest sympathy to the whole Canney Family. Hope this story is true about it being your family motorcycle and hope this story brought some joy to you during this time of sorrow. If it is true, please email me at mdias@coe.edu and let me know.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of great loss. I ,too, have many fond memories of time spent with Tim and your family. Whether we were hunting, going to school, or just hanging out, Tim was always a true friend and the kind of guy that could be counted on to make you laugh or support you in tough times. I didn't know Tim well, but I remember him as a very kind person. The first contact I recall having with him was when I was in grade school. Some older boys were giving me a hard time, and Tim stepped in to defend me. I remember feeling so appreciative, especially since I was pretty sure he didn't know who I was. My condolences to Tim's family, especially brother Mike, my teammate in football at LaSalle.

I am so very sorry to hear about T.C.'s passing. I have many memories that include Tim since we braved 12 years of school together. Some of the finest memories include performing in choir and musicals. 44 years seems like a short life on this earth. I will continue to think of Tim as a good soul who has made it to where we all hope to be someday. I will keep you all in my prayers as you grieve.

Don & Gloria, I just learned of your loss while on a recent visit back to Cedar Rapids. I loved having lunch with you, Gloria, at Prairie when you would entertain all of us with stories of the boys. Many times I have retold the story of them coming shirtless to the dinner table and your response. When I tell you I understand your loss, I truly do. All of my prayers are with you.
