David and Janis: Sorry for the loss of your dad. I can remember those times of visiting in Des Moines as we were growing up. Watching home movies and sledding down the hill on the side of the house. Hope you families are doing well. Jerry, Marcia and Luke Uhlman

My deepest sympathies to Dave, Deb, Jay and Jan and her family. I have many memories of J. V. but my fondest one is when he was in a lot of pain and traveled this past November to spend Thanksgiving with Dave, Deb, Jay and Emily. His main objective of coming was to meet Jay's wife, Emily, for the first time. He was a strong and compassionate person. He will be greatly missed.

Dave,Jan and families. How do I summarize working with your Dad for 22 years? Jerry was my mentor and friend. He was a big part of why I've succeeded in the insurance business. We have a monthly commission tally sheet in our break room that says "Keep the score, know the score and the score will improve". I envied the way he took care of his clients. He wouldn't hesitate to drive a hundred miles to settle a death claim. With his 60 years at Equitable, he was a wealth of knowledge. I enjoyed having a cup of coffee with him in the morning and an occasional happy hour beverage. I'll remember the times he talked about his winnings on the slots or at the dog track. Whenever I'm betting in the future, I'll be thinking of Jerry. He talked about you and your families all the time and was proud of all of you! We have some big shoes to fill in taking over his clients. He was a class act that will be missed by many.
