Edward Lee Longfellow
A couple of my memories of uncle Ed are when he bought his new Subaru in the mid 70's and a few of us had gone out to supper at the Big Yellow House, after supper he had to show how he could do a burn out with the front tires of his car. After doing it he had his famous grin on his face (like the one in the picture on this site). Another memory is every time Maryellen and I would ride my motorcycle to visit him and Aunt Linda, when we would get ready to leave he would sit there and say I wish you kids would get rid of the dangerous thing( this coming from the guy that would ride wheelies on his motorcyle.) I think the thing I will miss the most is him calling me Scotty.
I LOVE YOU UNCLE ED.

I have a lot of good memories of Uncle Ed, one time when I was a little boy I went to the store with him and I had the hardest time keeping up with him.I will miss his tall stories and the look on his face when he would tell them. Will miss smokes with him, we were always the two going outside to have a smoke at family gatherings. Will miss him terribly!

I have many great memories of the good times we had in Missouri. These good times help to accept the loss of ED. The memories we will always keep with us. We will miss you cousin.

Mary Alice and family - I remember Eddie Lee from when we were children and he and Kenny (my brother)would pull pranks on us when ever we visited. I have a feeling he's up there telling jokes with everyone and they are all remembering old times!
Here is a poem from all of us that w hope brings some peace and comfort for you all.
An Empty House
It's not as if I'm going,
To an empty house, you see.
I know I'm going up there,
With my other family.
I want no tears or crying.
I want to see you smile.
Just stay with me and hold my hand
As I walk that last long mile.
My life's been good and filled with love,
Just see how I've been blessed.
I've seen a lot and done a lot,
I've had the very best.
Why, look around and you will see,
As all of you are here.
That no one could have asked for more ~
You're all so very dear.
No, it's not an empty house,
This place I'm traveling to,
I'm just arriving sooner,
Than any one of you.

Little brother, what can I say, I lost a piece of my heart when you left us. The last few years we had some really good visits. When we were kids we got into a lot of trouble from mom, but we had fun doig it. Will miss your smile & the twinkle in your eye when you pulled something on someone. The last thing you said to me was "I love you," Well,I loved you too.

Please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your loved one. Even though it has been several years since we last visited with Eddie, I will always remember his wonderful sense of humor.

Uncle Ed we will all miss you terribly! I can still hear some of the stories that you used to tell us; I never knew whether to beleive half of them or not. Knowing you I am sure most of the were true. I am so glad that I got to spend the last few days with you at home. I am really going to miss the little pranks that we pulled on you and you pulled on us in return. You were laughing and joking even at the very end of your time here on earth, you were a great Uncle and I will miss you terribly. I love you Uncle Ed, give em heck in Heaven!

Uncle Ed's smile will be greatly missed! He was always there for me. We shared some very heartfelt talks in the last couple years and I will miss that very much. I'm glad that I was able to be with him in his last few days. He knew I was there and would hold my hand. Always had a smile when I came into the room. I love you and will miss you greatly.
