Velma E. Miller, 95, of Silver Pines Care Center died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services: 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Craig Bex will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4PM to 6PM. Surviving are a son, Larry Miller Mary of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Sandy, Kerry and Kelley; 6 great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fred; two sisters; and a brother. Velma was born August 25, 1912 in Burlington the daughter of Charles and Beda Hedlund Lofgren. She married Fred T. Miller on November 25, 1938 in Burlington. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Velma and her husband Fred pastored several churches together in the mid-west and the eastern states until his death in February 1987.
