Kenneth W. Coppess, 65, of 1425 8th Ave, Marion, died there Tuesday August 5, 2008 following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, where visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday. Burial: Mechanicsville Cemetery.
Survivors include his siblings, Karen Bragg and husband Richard of Mt. Vernon, Shirley Stewart and husband Jimmy of Toddville, Jerry Coppess and wife Tamra of Cedar Rapids, Rosa Andresen and husband Harlin of Cedar Rapids, David Coppess and wife Pamala of Cedar Rapids, Ronald Coppess of Cedar Rapids, Kevin Coppess of Cedar Rapids, Freddy Coppess of Cedar Rapids, Carolyn Thomas and husband Gary of Michigan and Phillip Coppess of Wisconsin. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
His parents and grandparents preceded him in death.
Kenneth was born October 30, 1942 in Anamosa, the son of Seward and Nancy West Coppess. He was employed Penick & Ford for 16 years and Iowa Concrete for 27 years. He enjoyed photography, gardening, birds and an avid Hawkeye fan.
