Vance and I were in the same office at Collins Radio. He was a great guy. Maybe we will meet again some day.

I met Mr Oliphant through his son and daughter in law ,Gary and Mickey. He and his wonderful wife were very open and friendly and made even a stranger from Ar seem right at home. He had a wonderful talent for words, such beautiful peotry that I always enjoyed and plan to continue to enjoy. My heart goes out to the family and each one of them will be remembered in my prayers. Let's not forget that the hard times are those that are ahead when everyone goes home and not forget to keep in touch with this family so they will know we are still thinking of them. God Bless you everyone and remember that Vance is with our Heavenly Father now, pain free, and writting his beautiful poetry. Love you Gary, Mickey, and Mom. And the rest of the family I am sure you are just as warm and loving as the ones I have met because that is the kind of wonderful people your Dad and Mom raised .

Aunt Lorraine and family: My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you. I will always be greatful for the time we spent with you in April. I believe that it was God ordained. I cherish those memories. There is no doubt in my mind that Uncle Virg is with his Lord. That was the last thing that I said to him when we were saying goodbye in April. He said "I don't want you to go" and I told him that we have all eternity to catch up. I love you all. Carole

I have never met Mr Oliphant. Now, I find I never will. I am a photographer who loves to shoot old barns through out the state of IA. I can across his name while looking for some poems on ol' barns. I love the one he wrote titled "Old Barn" and wanted to try & contact him to make sure it was ok to use with one of my pictures. So sorry to learn of his passing. What a great loss for all. Funny how years later his poems are still reaching out & touching soles... God bless his family... Jody
