** Charles R. "Chuck" Pottebaum, 56, of 5055 Johnson Ave. SW. formerly of Dubuque, died Thursday July 17, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home where there will also be military rites. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday.
Survivors include four brothers, Gary of Marion, Brian of Dubuque, Russ Sandy of St. Charles, MO., and Jeff Kelly of Walford, three sisters, Carla Pottebaum of East Dubuque, Illinois, Barb Jim Schoellen of Waterloo and Sharon Gene Harmon of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Chuck was born on June 2, 1952 in Dubuque, the son of Urban and Madonna Digmann Pottebaum. He was an A.S.A. Umpire for many many years. Chuck enjoyed all sports, watching the Chicago Cubs, the Green Bay Packers, hunting, fishing as well as proudly serving in the U. S. Navy.
