I grew up at St. Pauls, she was such an incredible lady, she and my mother and grandmother worked on many church projects together over many years. She always had a smile for everyone. I'm so sorry for her passing. Karen Andersen Helms

We first met Lousie in 197O at the SCI Christmas party. It was held at their home then. She was always such a gracious lady in every way. I also remember her speech on her collection of world dolls. It was really interesting. She was very knowledgeble about the countries. She was truly devoted to her whole family, her friends and to all the SCI family. She will be missed by all who knew her. She made the world a better place.

All who loved her will miss her dearly and many who never new her will benefit greatly from her generosity and her love. Even though she was my fathers 1st cousin I always called her Aunt Louise. I wish I had been able to get back from my Alaskan trip to see the family but I was very glad to have visited with her before leaving. She was a Great Lady and has left a marvelous legacy. We have all been blessed to have been part of her life. Sincerely Owen

As we all say goodby to Louise, we are remembering our dearest thoughts of her. For me, and my boys, it was Christmas in Iowa, starting in l966. I, along with my four boys, ages 4,5,8,9, flew to CR to be with Aunt Bunny and Uncle John for the holiday. This was the start of a wonderful tradition for the next several years. On Christmas Eve day, Kathy took my boys and Linda to her apt. she didn't even have a TV! to make Christmas decorations. I loved that more than the boys did!!. That evening, all dressed up in coats and ties and pretty dresses, we walked in the softly falling snow to Mamuw and Umpa's huge home that was all lite up. Louise always greeted us at the door in her unsoiled apron and welcomed us in to the smells of her labor. She always served oyster stew and chili which was her signature dinner for Christmas Eve. She had a picture board off the kitchen at the bottom of the stairs filled with the most recent pictures of the family, which I always enjoyed viewing. After dinner, Russ, with camera in hand, took pictures on the staircase of all the children as Louise tried to get them all to smile and look her way for the perfect shot. Russ was always congratulated for a job well-done. Then into the living room with a roaring fire, for the children to put on a Christmas play. Every age participated, regardless if they were sleeping, crying, crawling, etc. We all enjoyed it so much. Then Santa appeared with red shopping bags filled with toys for each child, even mine! How did he know they were there? All at once, paper will filling the air as the kids tore into their gifts who could have picked them all out, I wonder! After this Louise fell softly into a chair, her arms totally limp, but still smiling , and I had to take her picture. Christmas Day found the whole family at Carolyn's for a wonderful feast for all to enjoy. Louise was the heart of her family. She was a perfect Mother to my sister. And, to my family, she gave some wonderful memories that we will never forget.
