Memorial
Ann Procok, 95, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, following a lengthy illness. Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Ken Glandorf will officiate. Friends may call Saturday, at the chapel, after 10:00 AM. Private Inurnment at Czech National Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter Dorothy Dukes, of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Mark Dukes of Cedar Rapids, Craig Dukes Kay of Mt. Home, NC, and Lori McClenathan Lynn of Victor. Great-grandchildren Matthew Dukes Jenna of Cedar Rapids, Sarah Dukes of Waterloo, Stacy Axmear Steven of North English. Stephanie Dukes of Des Moines, and Monica McClenathan of Grinnell, and step- great-grandson Bryan Duncan Mandy of Henderson, NC. Great-great-grandchildren Kaylei, Noah and Lincoln Dukes, Kennedy Axmear; and step-great-great granddaughter Kassidy Duncan. Survivors also include Kathy Dukes, and good friend Scott Beltran.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Adolph "Al" in 2003, sister Christie Petsel, and brothers Joseph, Edward, Milver, Jerry and Ben, and son-in-law M. Lee Dukes.
Ann was born on April 8, 1913, to Joseph and Anna Novak Kulhavy, in Cedar Rapids. On September 3, 1931 she married Al. She was a homemaker for many years, cooked and baked for Dytrt's, later known as Konecny's, in Czech Village. She baked kolaches for Hoby Days in earlier years. Ann was devoted to Al for 72 years and as a mother and grandparent, babysitting family with tender loving care, and to helping anyone in need, and bringing happiness to many. She enjoyed a simple life with bowling, playing cards, and bingo. She enjoyed gospel music, watching game shows and the Lawrence Welk Show on television.
She was a long time member of Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she and Al were door greeters.
A memorial honoring Ann has been established.
