Eileen Dailey, 88, of 3731 Oakland Road NE, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at the home of her son Tari, following a brief illness. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM, at Cedar Valley Bible Church, 3636 Cottage Grove Avenue SE. Robert Landis will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Eileen is survived by five sons: Lance Gerry of Hoffman Estates, IL, Dan Joan of Monticello, Bari Karen of Dacula, GA, Tari Linda and Ed Marty both of Cedar Rapids. Grandma 'Leen is also survived her grandchildren Lance R. Dailey, Scott Dailey, Vicki Giegerich, Cana Dailey, Jordan Dailey, Michelle Sturtz, Vaughn Airy, Chad Dailey, Angie Thompson, Dawn Dietz, Brian Dailey, and Lauren Dailey; and 17 great grandchildren.

Her beloved husband Lance preceded her in death December 31, 1966. She was also preceded in death by a sister

Eileen was born October 11, 1919 in rural Iowa County, the daughter of Libby Kopetsky and Jack Bird. On January 30, 1938, she married Lance R. Dailey in Rock Island, IL. Eileen, along with her husband, was one of the founding members of Cedar Valley Bible Church. For many years, she owned and operated Christian Bookstore in downtown Cedar Rapids. She retired in 1987. Throughout her life her love of family was surpassed only by her love of Jesus, her Lord and Savior.
