Quentin C. Dudley, of 2197 Wes Ct. NW. died Wednesday May, 7, 2008 at the Winslow House Care Center in Marion after a long illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, a resident of the Winslow House Care Center, a daughter, Carol Larry Johnson of Center Point, five sons, Edward of Iowa city, Ernie Sharon of McKinney, Texas, Lorin DyAnne of Iowa City, Verne Deb of Lisbon and John Peggy of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Maribelle Faye Benesh of Cedar Rapids and two brothers, Lylburn Betty of Williamson and Kirk Wanda of Chariton. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 brothers and sisters.
Quentin was born on Dec. 30, 1919 in Troy Mills, the son of Lowell and Alma Price Dudley. He married Mary Lynde on Aug. 8, 1945 in Caserta, Italy. Quentin attended Coe College and studied art, and later worked at W. R. Grace for over 33 years, retiring in 1987. He was a former member of VFW Post No. 788 and proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He enjoyed the outdoors; deer hunting, fishing, carpentry work and canoeing. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Memorial donations may be given to St. Lukes Hospice in Quentin's name. Military rites by VFW Post No. 788.
