Harland D. Davis, 75, of 1220 Vernon Hill Blvd. SE. died Wed. April 23, 2008 at his home after a short illness. Services at 3:00 PM on Sat. at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Paul Wilcox will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, three sons, David Etta of Cadott, Wisconsin, Warren Tresa of Marion and Kenneth Jane of Cedar Rapids, two daughters, Debra Ann Dave Rickels of Vinton and Denise Klein of Cedar Rapids, two brothers, Clete Lois of Illinois and Gene Ruby of Wisconsin, four sisters, Alice Shriever of Idaho, Wanda Jack Glenn of New Jersey, Nina Mel Wetjen of Minnesota and Linda Bob Szabo of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, a brother in law, John Adamek and a sister in law, Joyce Davis both of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Niles, Roy and Curt, 2 sisters, Loretta and Mae and Harland's dear companion, his pet dog, Odie.

Harland was born on Oct. 5, 1932 in Chetek, Wisconsin, the son of Frank and Hattie Stanford Davis. He married Lois Mae Cameron on May 26, 1951 in Cedar Rapids. Harland was a body man and painter at Ford Town for several years. He later was the co-owner and operator of D & F Body Shop and retired from Sunline after 9 years of service. He was a former volunteer fire fighter with the Bertram Fire Dept. Harland enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping, boating, barbequing, watching western movies and especially loved time spent with his friends and beloved family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Harland's name.
