Memorial
Margaret Mary Davis Pohorsky, 100, a three year resident of Silver Pines Care Facility, died April 8, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center following complications of aging. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Friends may call after 2:30 PM, Thursday, at the chapel. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include daughters Marguerite Bonesteel and husband Oliver of Greencastle, PA, and Beverly A. Hedgecoth and husband Dale of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Jim Malinda Bonesteel of Reidsville, NC, Steve Donna Bonesteel of Newton, NJ, Lisa Rudish of Des Moines, Jeff Carmella Davis of Gordonsville, VA, and John Hedgecoth of Des Moines; great grandchildren Rebecca Zak Bush, Catherine Bonesteel, David Bonesteel, Jessica Davis, Cassandra Davis, Danielle Epp, and Carter Hedgecoth; and her son's widow Karen Kruse and her husband Ron of Marion.
She was preceded in death by husbands Clyde Davis, and Jerry Pohorsky; her son Jim Davis; and grand sons Robert P. and Joel E. Hedgecoth.
Margaret Mary Davis Pohorsky was born July 12, 1907 in Culebra, Panama the daughter of Wencil and Josephine Krejci Nedbal. At the time of her birth, her father was building homes for the builders of the Panama Canal. She was married to Clyde Davis on December 12, 1928, and he died on December 1, 1974. She later married Jerry Pohorsky on March 22, 1979, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 1992. For the majority of her life she enjoyed working in her home. During WWII she was employed at Collins Radio in assembly from 1943 to 1945. She enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano, and music. Above all she enjoyed the company of her family, and will forever be remembered for her sweet and caring personality.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the memorial fund established in her honor.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Silver Pines Care Facility for their excellent care they provided to Margaret, and their support to her family.
