Kenneth R. Novey, 78, 125 School Street, Marion died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Linn Manor Care Center following a brief illness. Services: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 4PM to 8PM.
Surviving in addition to his wife Bernice are a daughter, Donna Marie Novey of Shoreview, MN; a son, Richard Glenn Novey Sally of Valley Center, CA; and a brother, Raymond Novey of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kenneth was born August 2, 1929 in Prairie du Chin, WI the son of Henry and Marie Zacharis Novey. He was married on October 29, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to Bernice G. Bonney. Kenneth was a lab technician for Rockwell Collins for 19 years and also for Square D for 24 years. For more than 35 years, his hobby was locksmithing. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Iowa Locksmith's Association, Associated Locksmith's of America and the Marion American Legion Post #298. Kenneth also delivered meals for Meals-on-Wheels for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
