Patten J. Atwood, 78, of 1022 Regent Street NE, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no services. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; 3 daughters, Jeanette Jack Marrion of St. Louis, MO, Karen Bob Boland of Lawrence, KS, and Gail Mike Schmitz of Cedar Rapids; 2 sons, Jay Eva Atwood of Waterloo, and Bret Atwood of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Jerry Margaret Atwood of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Patten was born March 16, 1929 in Armstrong to Lester and Ilo Atwood. He worked for Swiss Valley Farms for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. He liked to work on his computer. Patten was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
