Toby and family, I was heartbroken to hear about your fabulous Mom. She was such a neat, fun-lovin lady. I have the best memories of her at Elmcrest getting that fabulous tan. Or when I was working in Iowa City, stopp'n in for a quick yougart and leaving a hour later. I loved talking to her! She had a contagious smile and great spirit. My prayers go out to you and the rest of her family. She is at peace now and enjoying eternal life! On behalf of the entire Keel family, please accept our condolences. My mother counted Chris as a close friend. I feel honored that I could learn to be a friend from the example she showed. She touched my life during a very troubled and fragile time. She was selflessly there for our family time and time again. I have carried that love to this day. I will always remember and miss you Chris. Peace be with you, and the family, friends and loved ones you leave to follow in your footsteps.

Dear Family: A beautiful picture of a beautiful lady. My memories of Chris go back to kindergarten. We had so much fun growing up together - from blue birds to synchronized swimming. With her infectious smile to her beautiful laugh, I will always remember her. She convinced me that Florida was the place to retire and it is so true. The warmth of the sunshine is very good for the soul. Thank you Chris for being such a special part of my life. Godspeed sweet lady. Love, Rose

Sad sad loss. I knew Chris from her days with the Mercy Auxillary when working on Mercy Showcase Houses. She was a wonderful person, fun and full of life. I am sorry she suffered a long illness. Our community and our world is a better place because she was in it. Marjie Carson Zach

Having known Chris in Cedar Rapids years ago, I was so pleased and surprised to discover that both of us had moved to Naples at the same time and lived in communities right next door to each other. We had fun times in the sun and I will always cherish those memories.

Toby, Mary, John and the entire Naso family. Bob and I were shocked to read of Chris' death. It has been a lot of years since we have seen you, but good friends are always good friends. Chris stood up for me when Bob and I were married in 1966 and we were so close for so many years. We used to spend every Christmas Eve at the house on Bever Avenue. Toby, we watched you grow up into the wonderful person your have become. Mary, she was so proud of her "little sister" and John, you and Bob had many good times when you were both in the bar business. We cherish all memeories of Chris and her whole family and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time in your lives. With lots of love and wonderful memories, Bob and Patty Smith

Toby, How very kind of you, at this difficult time, to thank our family for our shared experience at Hospice House of Mercy. It was our privilege to meet you as well. Reaching out to one another exemplifies the healing experience of Hospice House; don't you think? The week we spent there pales in comparison to your experience, but even that relatively short time was transformative for our family and we'll be forever grateful. Seeing the photos of your Mom and her friends, the smiles on their faces and obvious joy in being together, was inspiring. It made you want to be part of her special extended family. It also was heart warming to see you, your family and friends, smiling and laughing as you were compiling the photos and sharing stories of how your Mom lived life to the fullest. We'll be thinking of you all and wishing you peace.

I had tears in my eyes when I read Chris's obituary. She was the "sunshine and warmth" for all of us fortunate enough to have known her in Naples. We have been part time residents of Olde Cypress since 2002--so Chris has been with us the entire time. After my husband had his stroke, she was so good to help his shop for me in the pro shop choosing cute outfits. The last time that I saw Chris last May before returning to Ohio, she was cute and peppy dispite all that she had been through at that time. Our thoughts and hearts are with you during this difficult time when you must let go. Fondly, Susan and Gary Jensen

Then Almitra spoke, saying We would ask now of Death. And he said: You would know the secret of death. But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life? The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light. If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life. For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow, your heart dreams of spring. Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity. Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour. Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king? Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling? For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.” -- "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran My condolences to the family of Chris.

Chris was a wonderful person. She watched our dog while we traveled, and her love for animals was a gift she shared with many of us here in Florida. We thought of her often as she took the long road back to meet her Master. Our prayers are with her family and friends as they deal with the void Chris has left. We pray warm memories of times past will comfort you. We know Chris is now at peace in our Lord's arms. She will be missed.

Toby, What a truly remarkable woman your Mom was. She was so full of life, always wore a smile, and is still the coolest Mom who drove the Red Bug. Still to this date, I think of her when I see that car. Always cherish everything she gave you, the good and yes, the bad. Her most amazing gift was you, and she will always be with you. Dear Family, Toby and Jim,and many other friends. Christina had many friends as she was so friendly and outgoing. Thank you for your writing about her life in the Naples Daily News and we were sad to learn of her death even though it was expected. Thank you for your kindness to us during her illness. She certainly lived longer than expected. I would have told of her endless warmth and optimism if I could have been to her funeral in Iowa. I was her physician in Naples Florida.
