Memorial

Ruth P. Goodall 88, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, died there Saturday, January 26, 2008, following a long illness. Services at 10 AM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Sam Dronebarger of Noelridge Park Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday and at the chapel after 9:30 AM on Wednesday.

Survivors include a son James of Ely, two daughters Nila McParland of Cedar Rapids, and Janice Bemer of Toddville, five sisters, Betty of Des Moines, and Teal, Ruby, Mary, and Gus all of Cedar Rapids, over 100 total grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sons David and Dale, 1 daughter Patricia, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 1 granddaughter, and 1 great-granddaughter.

Ruth was born February 27, 1919 in Mechanicsville, Iowa, to George and Esther Coay Hawley. She married George R. Goodall on March 31, 1936 in Iowa City. He died in 1982. Ruth was a cook at the Sunrise Cafe, Wallys, and several other Cedar Rapids restaurants. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, and the family reunions where she was with all her family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice.
