To the Niebuhr Family, one and all: We can't tell you how sorry we were to hear of Rita's passing yesterday. Rita is certainly one to admire. Your funny, loving, caring, and gloriously diverse family is a testament to the wonderful mother and role model she was. We hold many memories of Rita at every type of social occasion imaginable, from silly surprise parties to ball games to formal dinners ~ What a great sport she was! We can't recall a time that she was out and about without a positive outlook, a great sense of humor and, quite frankly, impeccably dressed. We will always remember her fondly... and please know that you are all in our hearts. We send you much love, Steve & Megan

Jim, I remember how beautiful your Mom was and how well she handled all your friends partying at that great brick house! My Mama is also at Windmill Manor, so I saw Mireta often at lunches and dinner - she always had a smile when I greeted her! My best to you and your family! Pat Madison Meskimen

Joyce and Jim I had only known your mom for four months, in that time that I had cared for her, I could tell what a marvelous person Mireta was. Mireta had always asked me what the weather was each morning I walked in the room, or would ask me if Joyce was there. At lunch and dinner we had put her desert where she was not able to reach it for she would eat that first and not the meal for she was full. Even though it was a short time Mireta had touched my heart. I will not forget that sweet smile of hers. I am sorry for your lost of a terrific mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. May she rest in peace with the Lord!

Joyce, I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I know how much you loved her and I can't begin to imagine how you must feel. I miss you so much at the spa and I always enjoyed hearing of the adventures you and your Mom experienced as you were caring for her in her later years. What a gift to be loved by your children, as you loved your Mom. I hope to have the chance to give you a hug in person soon.....until then know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Cindi Schamberger

Dear Family Members of Aunt Mireta, We just got message from Marilyn Albright of your Mothers passing. Our sympathy and love to you all. We have many happy memories of Uncle Bill and Merita at the Niebuhr family Christmas parties. We did not get to attend too many, but were very special events. As you know Aunt Martha passed last November. Not many of the generation left. We will not be able to attend your Mom's funeral, but know our love and thoughts are with you. God's peace and blessings. Love, Marlyce and Bill Hollis Dunnellon, FL

We would like to express to the Niebuhr family our deepest sympathy at this time. Mireta and Bill were an inspiration to us in the early years of our Life Investors career. Their philosophy of work hard, play hard, and most of all take care of the people was something we picked up on and has served us well. We owe them much. The Schwarcks Chris, Rick, and John

Cousins & families; We were saddened at the news of Aunt Mireta's passing. You have our heartfelt sympathies and we join you in absentia in celebrating her life. Sherry & I will always remember her 80th, I think it was, Birthday Bash at the Colinies. We were also privalidged to see and visit with her at last years Sauerkraut Days. Her picture in the Press-Citizen is great, it depicts a vivacious lady with much charactor - as she was. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you at this time and in the days ahead. With Love, Bob & Sherry & family.
