Anna Marie Ellis, 83, of 127 Railroad St. in Fairfax formerly of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy after a lingering illness. Services at 11 AM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie, two daughters, Pamela Ellis of Lake Oswego, Oregon and Melanie Bryan Abel of Cedar Rapids, a son, Joseph Margie Ellis of Higbee, Missouri, two step-sons, Chuck Stanley of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Jack Stanley of Las Vegas, Nevada and a sister, Florence Auen of Independence. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Rene, a great grandson, Noah Grabe and several brothers and sisters.
Anna was born on Dec. 8, 1923 in Coggon, the daughter of Charles and Bertha Taylor Price. She married Charles A. Ellis on Sept. 21. 1965 in Chicago, Ill. Anna was a secretary at St. Lukes Hospital for over 35 years, retiring in 1987. Anna enjoyed crocheting, fishing, cooking, baking and time spent with her friends and grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Anna's name.
