John married his high school sweetheart in 1989. John and Karla lived in Florida, Washington D.C., and Virginia before returning to Cedar Rapids to raise their family. John worked in corporate accounting at Aegon for the past seven years. He enjoyed his work and was devoted to his Aegon family.
The way John lived his life was an inspiration to others. Striving to do his best, John was a devoted husband and father, supportive, loving, and a trusted confidante to his family and many friends. John was most respected for his ability to be caring but firm; John always knew when to offer encouragement and sound advice, and never took the concerns of others lightly. John never missed an opportunity to "seize the moment", whether it be training for a marathon, going to an Iowa Football game, cheering his daughters from the sidelines at basketball or soccer games, or hosting a backyard barbeque. John loved his family and friends and leaves behind a legacy of great love and laughter.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in John's name. Please leave a message or tribute to the Resewehr family on our web page, www.cedarmemorial.com under Obituaries.
