Verna P. Osborne, 87, of Marion, died November 2, 2007 at Northbrook Manor Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, November 5, 2007, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at the chapel after 12:00 PM on Monday. Interment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son Gary Osborne and wife Patricia of Marion; her daughter Evelyn O'Kelly of Iowa City; 4 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; and her brother Robert Bride and wife Beulah of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Pauline Osborne, and brothers Stanley Bride and Donald Bride.

Verna Pearl Osborne was born September 14, 1920 in rural Davis County, Iowa to Jesse and Daisy Salter Bride. She married Lee Osborne on October 26, 1937 in Bloomfield, Iowa. They farmed for several years in Davis County and had two children: a son Gary and a daughter, Evelyn. In 1956 they moved to Cedar Rapids where Verna worked at Rockwell Collins. In 1978, Lee and Verna retired and moved to Bella Vista, AR. After Lee passed away, Verna moved to Marion, Iowa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marion, and the United Methodist Women. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed caring for her flowers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Verna's honor be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, 7411 Mt. Vernon Road SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
