Marilyn Van Hoe, 78, 4515 Westchester Dr. NE died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at her home following a brief illness. Services: 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday from 4PM to 8PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 P.M. Msgr. Karl Glovik will officiate.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Maulandi Aymon of Robins, Lorraine Van Hoe of Portland, OR, and Jean Phillippe Randy of Cedar Rapids; five sons, Joseph Van Hoe of Iowa City, Larry Van Hoe of Cedar Rapids, Marty Van Hoe of Iowa City, Steve Van Hoe Daphne of Oceanside, CA, and Tom Van Hoe of Marion; two sisters, Elaine Garrison of Moline, IL and Patricia Coats of Sarasota, FL; 13 grandchildren, Anne Deutmeyer Daryl, Amy Duggan Mark, Joe Vanek Sharon, Marty Van Hoe, Jennifer Van Hoe, Lisa Hansen, Michael Hansen, John Van Hoe, Michael Van Hoe, Christine Van Hoe, Danny Van Hoe, Nicole Phillippe and Jake Phillippe; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Gene Larson and Jim Larson; and two sisters Rose Ann Mosenfelder and Nancy Carlson.

Marilyn was born February 3, 1929 in Rock Island, IL the daughter of Otto H. and Irene McGivern Larson. She married Joseph L. Van Hoe on September 27, 1947 in Rock Island, IL. They later divorced. Marilyn was an investigator for the Friend of the Court, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, was a Mercy Hospice volunteer for several years, as well as a volunteer mediator for Linn County Small Claims Court for 14 years. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and doing volunteer work. Her infectious laugh and her quick wit will be dearly missed.

Memorials may be made to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
