I will never forget the countless nights in the back yard with Gary on the lawn tractor pulling us in the cart, the "Wheel of Terror" he showed us how to ride and the way he always called me “Joey”. His memory will live with me forever, as I know it will with all of you. He will be greatly missed. Joe

Sheri, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I have many great memories of him and he ALWAYS made me laugh. I remember him driving me home from somewhere and you and I would be in the back seat and he would slow down near my house and say " Okay shorty, get ready to jump!" He was a great man and I know he will be greatly missed. Take care and God Bless. Emi Dyrland-Chapman

What better example of an Uncle could there have been. But Gary went beyond just being an uncle to me. When my Mom and Dad divorced and not to much later my grandpa Garys dad died, the two most important people to me at that time of life. Gary stepped in and became that father figure and mentor that i needed. He took my brother and I hunting and fishing, camping and on vacations with them. He had us over at his and Dianas house seemed like every weekend until we were old enough to drive. He always took us coon hunting with him exept one time that we wernt able to go because of school, I was so disapointed, but around 11:00 or so we were woke by Gary in our basment because he just had to show us the coon he had gotten that night at aunt bettys, the biggest ever. I think we were up for an hour listening to him tell how it all happend. I have so many memories with him and consider myself to have been blessed to call him my "Uncle Gary". To Brian ,Sheri, Kevin,Terry, and Chris I don't think you could have a dad that could have loved you all more over the years. I could always hear it in is voice when ever he talked about you all, all though not so much about you guys when you started giving him grandchildren lol. WITH LOVE AND GRATEFULLNES FOR SHARING YOUR HUSBAND AND DAD WITH ME WHEN I WAS GROWING UP I THANK YOU. GREG

Dianna and family I was so sorry to read about Gary in the gazette. I worked with Dianna at Stouffer Hotel it was 20 years ago now. I recall all the times Dianna would tell me how her and Gary would have a date night it sounded so romantic, hearing her talk about how they enjoyed each other, their children were number one in both their lives. God blessed you both Dianna for the years you spent together in your relationship and as a loving family. My thoughts are with you. The memories will last a life time. All my best Kim Barger

Memories are like photos in my mind playing a slideshow, each frame a window to the past and my mind if full of them tonight. I learned what it meant to be a dad and a husband from my Uncle Gary. I spent a lot of my childhood with his family. Brian and I romped all over the neighborhood, not to mention the house, I appreciated being treated as one of their own. Gary wasn't afraid to get down on the floor and play with toy guys with Brian and me. Here was this tough Marine showing us hand to hand combat with Little Adventure People. I regret not visiting Gary, not just when he was sick but when he was healthy I know my kids would have had endearing memories as I do, I love Gary and Dianna very much and will always cherish my childhood with Brian and Sheri watching and playing with Kevin, Teri and Chris.
