Lori, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I know you two were very close. I know you may not want to hear this now, but, just know she is in a better place and is no longer in any pain. Take care and call if you need anything.

Aunt Fern, Lori, Judy and all - here is a poem and Bible verse that we hope will bring comfort to you - An Empty House It’s not as if I’m going, To an empty house, you see. I know I’m going up there, With my other family. I want no tears or crying. I want to see you smile. Just stay with me and hold my hand As I walk that last long mile. My life’s been good and filled with love, Just see how I’ve been blessed. I’ve seen a lot and done a lot, I’ve had the very best. Why, look around and you will see, As all of you are here. That no one could have asked for more ~ You’re all so very dear. No, it’s not an empty house, This place I’m traveling to, I’m just arriving sooner, Than any one of you. -- Patti Koch ‘99 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith................... II Timothy 4:7 Dixie had such a sense of humor, she was so upbeat even when life was bleak. She will be missed but don't you know she is having such a reunion with her Dad and all those relatives!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Our deepest sympathies, Jack and Patti

I will miss our everyday talks on the phone, most of the time exchanging recipes or looking up a recipe on the computer Dixie had seen on one of the cooking shows. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Lori and Family- I was one of your Mom's instructors in the LPN school. It was a pleasure to have her as a student, and then as a fellow worker. She always thought of others, and had as infectious laugh. May your memories keep you until you meet her again. May God comfort you with the thought that he is taking care of her until you meet again. Bev Draves

Lori, Judy, Aunt Fern, Joseph, Kevin & Del, I am so sorry for your loss. Dixie put up one hell of a fight. It was a long road for her and she grew tired. May it comfort you to think of her in heaven smiling, laughing with that wonderful laugh of hers, talking recipes, cooking and catching up with those that have gone before. Deepest sympathy, Kathy

Our family friendship goes back to the 1970's and began when Dix and I were in nurses training together. Thirty years and more of love and laughter, heartache and woe, good health and illness. Dixie was the sister I never had and she knew it. She was always there for her friends and we spent thousands of hours together on the phone through the years. There is an empty place in my heart now that no one can ever fill. Dixie was one of those people that you call 'my friend', and know that is the highest complement you could pay her. Memories of her will always make me smile. Fern, Lori, Judy... The circle has lost a treasure. My heart goes out to each of you. Dianne

Aunt Fern, Judy, and Lori: I am so sorry about Dixie; she was a beautiful person and will be missed terribly. I will miss our little get togethers at the holidays and the fun that we used to have when we did get together. I will miss "the look" she used to give you when you said something that you thought was funny and she wasn't quite sure that it was. I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with your family throught this hard time.
