Barbara Lindsey Nassif

Patty and Rob, In reading the Cedar Rapids Gazette this past week, I saw your mother's obituary. My sincere sympathy to both of you at her passing. I can only say what a grand lady she was!! My memories are fond ones filled with smiles, laughter and joy. She will be missed. A side bar for you - Last March, when we were still in Florida at a favorite ice cream shop, we started a conversation with a couple of men whose roots turned out to be in Cedar Rapids. One of them was a relative of yours named Matt Nassif. He and his attorney wife were living on the beach near us. How could I not ask him if he knew you? He even called his dad as we talked to find out how your mother was. We never seem to be so far away that we aren't near in some manner. Peace and best wishes to both of you. You are all remembered in special ways. In sympathy, Barb

Patty and Rob, I am sorry about your mother. I really didn't know her but I think about your dad, Morey often. He and I were the only ones at 5B stables that had American Saddlebreds. I rode with him frequently. Morey would often stop at Indian Creek Stables where I also had a horse to visit with Willard Elliott. I went to your dads funeral with Willard. I think Willard died in 1985. I know how difficult it is to loose both your parents, my father died in 2002 and my mother in 2005. My thoughts are with you. Dana
