Memorial

Kenneth L. Jeffery, 71, of 3859 Northwood Dr. NE died on Sat. Aug. 11, 2007 in rural Linn County. Services at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday. The casket will be closed at all times.
Survivors include two sons, Steven of Cedar Rapids and Brian of Anchorage, Alaska, 2 sisters, Twyla Jim Melburn of Arlington, Texas, Ruby Haddon of Riverdale, Illinois, and a brother, Billy Delores of Neosho, Missouri. He is also survived by two grandsons, Robbie, who is in college in Indiana, Nicholas who is in high school in Basalt, Colorado, his former wife, Sharon Jeffery, his partner of 20 years, Ruth Roberts, beloved friends, Chuck and Pat Welsh, Mike and Ann O'Donoghue, special friend, Kevin Carter and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers; Wendall, Marvin, Jack, Charles, Donald and a sister, Linda.
Ken was born on Dec. 17, 1935 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Bessie Sorenson Jeffery. He retired from Smulekoff's Furniture after 50 years of service. Initially he worked on the appliance delivery truck, then repairing and selling appliances eventually becoming the manager of the appliance dept.
