Mary Jo Rouse, 76, of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House following a long illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Norwich Cemetery in Martelle. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6PM to 8PM. The Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen Stanton Buddy of Woodstock, GA, Paula Kohl of Columbia, SC, Teri Darr of Nashville, TN, and Connie Snitker Jerry of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, David Stanton, Justin Kohl, Kati Darr, Kody Darr, Kori Parvin, Jared Snitker, and Jordan Snitker; a great grandson, Caden; two sisters, Wilma Caldwell of Anamosa and Martha Ann Titmus of Boulder City, NV; a brother, Mike Brewer Audrey of Anamosa and a close personal friend, Willis Daugherty of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Dottie, a brother Jack, and a grandson, Coby Connor.
Mary Jo was born September 26, 1930 in Martelle the daughter of Glen and Pauline Brewer. She married Elmer "Bud" Rouse on April 20, 1948 in Marion. She was the office manager for Mutual Fire and Auto Insurance Company for 31 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
