Jean M. Aldrich, 68, of 273 Windsor Dr. NE died Sat. June 23, 2007 at her home after a short illness. Services at 10 AM on Thursday at the Friendship Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Hamilton will officiate. Burial at 3:00 PM on Thursday in the Center Baptist Cemetery in rural Lansing. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.
Survivors include three daughters, Kari Lackore of Frisco, Texas, Kristin Kuehl of Cedar Rapids, and Constance Kurth of Plymouth, Minnesota; two sons, James of Addison, Texas and John of Norwalk and sister, Joan Syverson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, David, Lindsey, Hillary, Tabitha, Tiffany, Connie, Adam, Jacob, Austin, Joseph, Bryan and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Jean was born on March 9, 1939 in Muskegon, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Edith Reinertson Bringedahl. She graduated from Luther College in 1961 with a degree in education. She married A. James Aldrich on Aug. 18, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan. He died in 1994. Jean was an elementary school teacher at Kenwood Elementary and retired from there after more than 35 years of service. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, P.E.O. Chapter DK, N.E.A. and Retired School Personnel. A memorial fund has been established. Jean was extremely proud of her Scandinavian heritage. She enjoyed collecting trolls and rosemalling. She was an outgoing person who loved to entertain both her family and many friends.
