David Scott Nelson
David lived next door to our family for as long as I can remember. David and his mom Bernice were very close to my brother Mike who passed away in 1979. I can picture them all together again...what a reunion. Of course Bob would also be with them... probably watering the lawn. David was always a good and caring person...we will miss him.

David and I grew up together in Cedar Rapids. While I have not seen or spoken to David in quite a while, I have many fond memories of our early days together. I am sorry to learn of his passing.

My family met The Nelsons on the boat to Mackinac Island in the early 1960's. We became good friends. I have many fond memories at the Delhi cottage, cheering for my Badgers at Iowa footaball games and our recent telephone conversations. I am glad to know that he is at peace and with his parents, my parents and my sister in heaven.

Will really miss Dave. With all the good times in high school, the Hubacek European Tour, and on to William Penn College. Even though those times are gone, the memories I call on periodically. With the Grace of God through Jesus Christ, we'll get to be with Dave and all the rest of our old friends for all time.

I met Dave in 7th grade at Franklin. We both went out for basketball and had alot of fun. It was sad to see Dave's health decline, but he always seemed in good spirits, and was always willing to help you out. I will miss him.

I've known Dave since grade school, and also a near neighbor. He always teased me growing up, and I've always remembered him thru the years. I just missed seeing him from a return to CR the week he passed away. Sue

Dear David was my cousin and I have many fond memories of the man. While it had been a couple years since I saw him, we would talk on the phone once or twice a month just to keep up with each other. In spite of the heavy burden his health problems, he was always ready to discuss the Hawkeyes and another journey to the Rose Bowl. I will miss Dave very much, but I know he was tired of suffering and was ready to join Bernice and Bob up in heaven. God Bless you David.

Dave was my cousin. He and I had a special relationship growing up. He was my pal and took me under his wing whenever I visited CR to visit Aunt Bernice, Uncle Bob and my wonderful grandmother Emma Hruska. Although I am a hoosier by birth and family relation, Dave converted me into a Hawkeye at heart. He and I spent time together in San Diego as well. I hope someone who knows his best friend Drew has let him know of Dave's passing. Glad to know Dave is resting peacefully with Bernice, Bob, Nana and Daisy.

I am sorry to see the news of Davids passing. We spent many days together on the football practice field, and like Dan mentioned had a great time traveling to Europe with David. He provided more than a little humor as we grew up, and thats what I will remember most.
