Carlton Arthur Turkington
I have been a part of Carl Turk,s family for 34 years and can say that Turk was one of the best father-in-laws that anyone could ever hope for. Some of my fondest memories will be when we would both be going the same way on First Avenue,in our individual delivery trucks, and would each speed up a little bit to see who could go the fastest. We all know that Turk is in a better place and is probably sitting on the riverbank fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

There is something to be said about having your Aunt and Uncle live next door your whole life. Patty, Terry, Kathy, Dennis are like my sisters and brother. Aunt Sis and Uncle Turk my extra set of parents. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way! Uncle Turk ALWAYS had the best garden in the city. No One and I mean no one dare to enter the garden. But I did every year and stole tomatoes right off the vine. Got yelled at everytime but it never stopped me. I took them out of love honest. Uncle Turk loved to grow them and I loved to eat them.hehe Uncle Turk you gave me great childhood memories, from fishing on the 3rd ave bridge, camping, going in the air boat that you made, playing horsehoes, and many more that I have taken with me in my adult life. May you never suffer again, your garden be bountiful, the fishing spectacular, and the mushrooms glorious. I will miss you and keep you in my heart forever. To my Aunt Sis , and my "sisters and brother". Thank you for sharing you husband and father with me!! I am honored to be a part of your family.

Carl, I hope that you get to hunt those mushrooms once you arrive in the plentiful timber. I know that with this good rain we've just had they ought to be poppin' up soon. I am so glad that you are in a place of peace and fresh air. You and your wife are beautiful people and 2 people that I will never forget. Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives. Turk, I feel so fortunate to have known you and your great family as I am a better person because of it. I will forever cherish the memories I have with you and Sis, especially the ups and downs we experienced watching Cubs games on television and traveling to Dubuque to bet on the greyhounds. I will never forget the kindness you have shown me. Your tender heart and witty sense of humor will be exceptionally missed.
