Memorial

Trixie Dolores Jeffrey, 75, of 111 Barbara St SW, died Wednesday March 28, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Memorial services: 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Elks Club in Cedar Rapids. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her son, David Matejka and wife Cory of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Lea Myers and husband John of Cedar Rapids, and two grandchildren, Michael Matejka of Cedar Rapids and Nichole Allen of Iowa City.

Her parents, a brother, Jim Jeffrey and a sister, Lila Fields preceded her in death.

Trixie was born January 3, 1932 in Quinn, South Dakota, the daughter of Lacey and Mildred Overholt Jeffrey. She was employed by the Elks Club and was one of the first women to be a member. She was also a member of the Unity Church in Cedar Rapids. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, dancing, crafts and loved to cook. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family has established a memorial fund.
