Please accept my heart felt sympathies. Dionne's passing is so very sad. We worked together at Aegon and I was fortunate to see her a few times since. She was just a joy to talk with and kept me laughing. Dionne was the first person to help me understand how a person can fall in love with a pet and Dionne was one of the few people I know who shared my like of odd art. I will miss her. Barb Jackson

Dionne was one of the most gregarious, funniest, genuine women I’ve ever known. She and I became friends almost instantly. She had a special gift for connecting with people and you just couldn’t help but be drawn to her. The love and friendship that Dionne gave was more than precious. It was unconditional. It was rare. Those who experienced it, even for a short time, are truly blessed. Aside from my children and husband, I truly believe in my heart that I may never again experience such a special and unique connectedness with another person. It’s been more than five years since I last saw her and I always imagined and hoped our lives would cross paths again. Dionne is the kind of friend you could imagine yourself laughing with in old age; reminiscing about our foolish young adulthood, sharing stories of our grandchildren, and comparing our quirky families in ways that only someone from another quirky family can appreciate. I am so sorry, and I wish you peace and comfort as you grieve the loss of a truly beautiful person.

To Jay and Dionne's family, We are so very sorry for your loss. Although we weren't the closest friends, I got to know Dionne through mutual friends and several concerts. We had some great, memorable times with her and we partied like rock stars! She was a very kind, giving, and fun loving person and she will be greatly missed. Jay, Shane, Harold, and Carol, I worked with Dionne at Von Maur. My memories of Dionne remain hilariously funny. She made coming to work a pleasure. Even though I was old enough to be her mother we had a wonderful time together. After she left Von Maur I was so touched when she came back to say "Hello!" And I'll always love her. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Jay and families, I have many fond memories of Dionne in my classroom. As a junior high school student she was such a mature little lady who knew what she wanted and went after it. Her kind demeanor, her authentic nature, her ‘take-charge’ attitude, and her loving smile are such warm recollections of a wonderful individual who would succeed in any endeavor. She took her illness in stride as only Dionne could do. Her passing makes us all realize the extent to which Dionne has touched so many of us in such positive ways. Find comfort in the fact that this world is not conclusion, a sequel stands beyond; as invisible as music, but positive as sound.

Dear Shane, It has been nearly twenty years since I have seen you, but I needed to send a message to you and the entire Kuddes and Johansen families. I was deeply saddened at the news of Dionne's passing. Dionne had a spirit unlike most in that her smile warmed anyone lucky enough to see it and she was always a genuine friend. There were several times in high school that Dionne's amazing laugh made my day. I thank you for the many hours you allowed me and countless others to gather in your home. I have many memories of Dionne that I will always treasure. You and all that loved Dionne are in my prayers. Sincerely, Jon Smith

Dear Harold and Shane, Words can not express the deep sadness I am feeling regarding your loss of Dionne. Having been away from Cedar Rapids for over 20 years now and not having seen Dionne for some time, I have the luxury of remembering all the wonderful times we all had on Deerview Road and how Dionne was such a special person. Having lost my father unexpectedly last February, I can understand the immense pain you must be feeling right now. Try to remember that, over time, your grief will slowly be replaced by the many loving memories you have of Dionne. With great sadness and a heavy heart! Dan

I could write a novel about the vibrant spirit/smile, I met and fell in love with in junior high school. Dionne made this world a better place. An irreplaceable friend/sister who unfailingly made myself and undoubtedly everyone she ever came into contact with- smile and laugh. I'm grateful to God for her precious life and my years with her. I'm grateful to the Kuddes family for making me feel part of yours all these years. This day, Dionne is in paradise where she deserves to be. I love you all so.

Jay- Bill & I are very sorry to hear of your loss. Dionne was my trainer when I first started at Aegon many years ago. She was always so happy and full of life. No one will ever fill the void that Dionne has left in your life, but remember that no matter what she is always right by your side. Keep your memories of her fresh and close to your heart.
